  • About: Although I didn't become deaf until the age of three, I've always felt like I have been deaf my whole life because I learned American Sign Language (ASL) before I learned spoken and written English. I excelled in my Deaf Studies programs in both High School and College. I have taught sign language to students of all ages including: adults, children, young adults, deaf children, and even baby Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs) using a variety of methods, from fingerspelling to word and sign comprehension. I've even developed a worksheet I use to help students understand the importance of accurate hand shapes when signing. I generally teach ASL one-on-one, focusing on immersion and the communicative method of teaching. I have a good eye for visual rhythm, and I enjoy working with students of all ages and ability levels. I believe I have the ability to enhance anyone's knowledge and understanding of the deaf community through exciting and fun activities, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
