PRIVATE TURKISH CLASSES LOS ANGELES

With a Strommen tutor you will speak Turkish on the first class. A private session is more effective, efficient and convenient than enrolling in a group class. Your Strommen tutor will be a perfect fit for your needs and learning style. We equate 10 hours of private classes with a full semester in a traditional college or group class.
Scheduling is convenient (7 days a week, any time of day), and you can start right away. You can easily reschedule, so you will never miss a class and get left behind. In a private class, you do the speaking. There are no other students to hide behind or take up all of the teacher’s time. Your teacher will make sure you progress at your pace, rather than the pace of the best (or worst) student in the class. Strommen further enriches your learning experience with free podcasts, videos, online resources, Strommen Language Meetups around LA, group classes, workshops and even annual immersion trips.

Getting started is easy, just fill out our student application or call and we will help choose the best teacher for you. We decide on a specific teacher based on a number of criteria including a professional gut-feeling. We will make sure it is the perfect match. As a student, your Strommen teacher will be highly dedicated to you, but if they happen to go to Italy for vacation or you feel like switching it up a bit, rest assured you can always get a substitute or alternate teacher. The locations for our private classes are very convenient (believe it or not we probably have a location down the street). Many of our teachers meet at cafes, at their home office, or anywhere you like. We believe it’s fundamentally wrong to really learn a language from a text book, audio CD, or computer program. It’s time to get away from the computer, grab a coffee and meet your Strommen teacher to have a real conversation!

Best Deal! 20 hour package $780 ($39 hourly) – Intended for students that will take at least 1 hour per week.

Hi! My name is Andrea. I grew up in a number of different countries in Europe and the Middle East, namely France, Portugal, Cyprus, Israel, Turkey, and Serbia. I became interested in languages and linguistics at a very young age. I studied French throughout elementary school and high school, and later got a Bachelor's Degree in French Language and Literature. I am familiar with many different aspects of language including grammar, linguistics, phonetics, literature, and translating. I am also trained in teaching foreign languages, and I love to develop my own teaching methods! I am available to give classes in French, ESL, Turkish, and Serbian, and I look forward to making this a fun experience for you!

Merhaba! My name is Bahar and it means ‘Spring’ in Turkish. There you go, your first Turkish word! I was born and raised in a city called Bursa which is known for its greenery, gardens and parks, and then I went off to college, lived in Istanbul for four years, one of the most magical places on Earth. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Bahcesehir University, Istanbul and I have a Master’s degree in Political Science from Stockholm University, Sweden. I also studied the universal language of Film at UCLA and I’ve been living in the US since 2012. My passion is learning about life through exploring new places, studying different cultures and meeting people whose lives are much different from mine. And I think the best way to gain a deeper understanding of a culture is through learning its language. Throughout my life, I made every effort to nourish my cultural and linguistic curiosities both by learning and teaching, and I hope to share my knowledge of the Turkish language with you, enrich your communicative skills while we both mature through our cultural exchange.

Selamlar! This is Osman. I have bachelor's and master's degree from the department of Turkish Language and Literature. Also, I have been doing my PhD for 3 years now at Yıldız Technical University where I finished my bachelor and master. I have over 9 years of experience in teaching Turkish and I have worked for both state and private universities and language courses. My hometown is a small city called Elazığ (Yes, there are interesting and different characters in Turkish such as "I/ı, Ğ/ğ, Ö/ö..." (: but no worries, your teacher is here) but I have lived half of my life in Istanbul. Although my hometown has one of the best nature and I really love it, Istanbul is my favorite city. I do not think I need to mention my passion on studying and reading, so I will mention the others (: I am a traveller who has seen many countries and countless cities both in Turkey and abroad. I have lived abroad for few years and taught Turkish wherever I have lived. After living and working as a Turkish teacher in USA and Greece, my new journey has just started with Cape Town, South Africa (: Besides travelling, I am a big ocean and nature fan. Swimming and free diving is becoming a passion to me after playing European football. Other than that, learning about different culture and folklore has always been intriguing me a lot and this leads me to keep interact with different people. I took one step further and changed this to a profession in my early ages (: So, I am here to hear and learn about your culture and country but only in Turkish (: I would love if you are the one who is speaking more than me so in this way, after a short while of learning Turkish, we can start sharing more and having deeper conversations. This will lead both sides to gain different perspectives at each others life.

Hallo! My name is Eser. I grew up in the heart of vibrant Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I have a great passion for learning languages and traveling. After learning 9 languages, it became time to turn my love for languages into my profession. I became a simultaneous interpreter and have travelled the world as a conference interpreter. I have interpreted for Presidents, international summits, press conferences, UEFA Champions League and major TV networks. People started asking me questions like “What language do you dream in?”, “What language do you think in?”, “Is there a secret to learning languages?” I knew it was time to share my methodology through private language coaching. I love to help people master a new language in an engaging, interactive way. Simply because learning a new language should be fun! Grammar knowledge and increasing your vocabulary will go hand in hand in our class. Since language is the gateway to a new world, we will also focus on integrating a good understanding of the culture of the language.
