- About: Hello, my name is Rafael Amado Deras, born and raised in Guatemala. I have a B.A. in Communication, a MS in Political Sciences and a post grade on Investigative Journalism and I love teaching Spanish! I started teaching when I was 18, as a volunteer at a YMCA in Guatemala. Since then, I have taught many different subjects and at many different levels. I was a university level teacher in my country teaching Mass Media technology. Im a backpacker/hiker by nature, as well as a photographer who has done freelance work for the Los Angeles Times, Getty Images and National Geographic. I have taught Spanish in Los Angeles, Dallas and Austin. As a teacher, my main goal is that my students learn the best way possible in a relaxed, fun and comfortable environment. I'm definitely not satisfied until the student is satisfied.
