Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Is a private language tutor worth it?

If your goal is to actually speak — yes. One-on-one means every minute is yours. You go at your speed, work on the vocabulary you need, and get real-time corrections. Group classes are cheaper per hour but most students plateau. Tutoring is how people break through.

Can you hire someone to teach you a language?

Yes. That's what we do. Every one of our teachers is handpicked — we meet them, we know their specialties, we match you to one based on your level, goals, and schedule. Online anywhere or in person across LA.

How much is an online language tutor?

Our tutors run $60–$120/hour depending on language, experience, and whether it's solo or group. Rare languages and test-prep specialists are on the higher end. Most students book weekly or bi-weekly.

How much do language tutors charge per hour?

Market rate in LA for certified private tutors is $60–$150/hour. Our rates sit inside that range. We don't undercut — underpaid teachers don't stick around, and we want your teacher to still be here in a year.

Is it worth paying for language classes?

Depends on your goal. If you want to chat on vacation, apps can get you halfway. If you need real proficiency — work, travel, family, a role, an exam — you need a human. Apps don't correct your accent, explain why a phrase feels off, or hold you accountable. Teachers do.
