" Bonjour everyone,
I am a French Native living in Brittany, France. I have always been fascinated by the study of the origin of words and the way in which their meanings have changed throughout history. This is what pushed me toward the teaching of languages.
I first started teaching French to British students when I lived in the UK for 2 years, then I went on teaching French for the language company Babbel Live with their online lessons.
I’ve helped many students with a wide range of learning objectives — from learning the language to communicate in everyday situations in a French-speaking country, to preparing for the DALF or DELF exams, to acquiring useful phrases for a holiday. Many are learning simply for the joy of discovering this beautiful language and I truly enjoy preparing lessons that can also include cultural and historical elements, if that’s something you’d like to explore. I'm always happy to support your personal or professional goals! I'm always open to working with your personal or professional goals!
I love teaching to both children, teenagers and adults because this is always a different challenge, and what I prefer in my mother tongue is the use of expressions, therefore I will be more than happy to share many of them with you !
As for my education, I got a Master in communication and marketing, in Caen, Normandy and I also got a bachelor degree in sociology and journalism in the UK.
I now teach both French and English, to young students in Vannes, France. So it won't be a problem for me to exchange with you in English as well.
In my free time, I love hiking with my dog, knitting, and playing music, sometimes the guitar, or the drums.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
Such a difficult question, because there are many ... I love the word "vague" which means "wave" in French, so "une vague". I love the sound of it, and I find that the prononciation reminds me a lot of the actual wave !

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
I would say, galettes bretonnes ! You should definitely try them , they are exactly like pancakes, but salty ones with home cooked stuffing, and the dough is made out of sarrasin flour.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I do speak English too, and I focus entirely on this language in order to master it in the best way possible. Hopefully going from C1 to C2 eventually.

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I love walking my dog, playing the music, and of course listening to it! I have plenty of different music styles I enjoy, but mostly Rock and alternative music, sometimes good country too. Stevie Nicks is one of my favourite artist, but I am also a long time fan of Linkin Park. Other than that, I love cooking and eating ! I love fashion too, and finding new cool trends, second hand clothes as well. Love talking about travels and visiting new cities. A big fan or 2000s series like Friends, Charmed, Malcolm in the middle etc.

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
I love my Hometown because it is human-sized as we say in French, and everything you need is maximum 10-15 minutes car drive ! And I love the fact that it is very close from the seaside, it gives me a feeling of openness and horizon !
