Hi, welcome to the US! Whether you are new to the country, or been here awhile, there are probably many ways you can improve your English skills. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, so I can coach you to speak in the most popular form of American English. My ESL teaching career began in Kyoto, Japan where I taught private students and group classes for two years. Currently I'm teaching Business English as an adjunct professor at a local university, and also teach ESL daily at a language school. I'm fascinated by language and world cultures. Having studied German and Japanese myself, I know that learning a new language may seem daunting at first, but all it takes is a little effort and a willingness to make mistakes! I've seen students make great progress as long as they bring a positive attitude. I'm excited to meet you and look forward to customizing your lessons to help you meet your personal goals!

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I can relate to my students, because I'm a lifelong learner myself! I'm fascinated with languages and writing systems. In high school and college I studied German language and literature, including one semester at the University of Marburg, Germany. It was a great experience! After graduation, I lived in Japan for 2 years, teaching English and studying Japanese. Over the years, I've forgotten quite a bit, but it's fun to practice conversation when I get the chance.
