Hello guys! My name is Emanuele, born and raised in Italy, near Milan. I've spent my entire life studying languages with a very academic approach, which unfortunately didn't give me the results I hoped for. So, I started traveling the world, learning Russian, French, and English fluently. I combined this academic approach with my own practical method to be able to have fluent conversations with people who speak other languages. I worked as a ski instructor with people from all over the world, which allowed me to improve my languages. Five years ago, I moved to California, where I've been teaching many Italian enthusiasts how to speak Italian fluently. My goal is to help you become fluent and confident in what you say, without getting lost in details or expressions that you'll never use. This type of teaching is not the same for all my students; it's personalized for each person's level and personality, in other words, tailored just for you. The ultimate goal is to make you aware and proficient in communicating with a native speaker.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
My favorite word is "Bella" because, depending on how you pronounce it and the tone you use, you can have long and intense conversations. This is the beauty of the Italian language.

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
My favorite dish is polenta and sausage. Growing up in the Alps, I learned about the Alpini, the brave men who fought in the World Wars, who often ate this hearty meal in the trenches. Polenta and sausage with cheese is something truly exceptional. In the remote mountain huts, forgotten by time, you'll find cozy taverns where they welcome you with dishes like this, made from the freshest ingredients. It's a taste of history and tradition, wrapped in the warmth of alpine hospitality.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
Yes, I speak fluent Italian, French, English, and Russian. I can communicate in Spanish because it is very similar to Italian, and my next language will be Portuguese

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I am passionate about sports and love challenging myself by trying new things and experiences. I am always in search of adventure and novelty. I also enjoy studying to grow as a person, delving into subjects ranging from communication and psychology to the more spiritual aspects of life . And of course, travel around the world .

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
Sestriere, the town where I was born and raised, is my home base. A ski resort, the mountains—this is my natural habitat. Despite traveling since I was very young, home is always home.
