- About: Merhaba! My name is Bahar and it means ‘Spring’ in Turkish. There you go, your first Turkish word! I was born and raised in a city called Bursa which is known for its greenery, gardens and parks, and then I went off to college, lived in Istanbul for four years, one of the most magical places on Earth. I have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Bahcesehir University, Istanbul and I have a Master’s degree in Political Science from Stockholm University, Sweden. I also studied the universal language of Film at UCLA and I’ve been living in the US since 2012. My passion is learning about life through exploring new places, studying different cultures and meeting people whose lives are much different from mine. And I think the best way to gain a deeper understanding of a culture is through learning its language. Throughout my life, I made every effort to nourish my cultural and linguistic curiosities both by learning and teaching, and I hope to share my knowledge of the Turkish language with you, enrich your communicative skills while we both mature through our cultural exchange.
