Hola, my name is Carolina. I am a native speaker and teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language with a university degree in Hispanic Philology and several years of experience. I can accompany you in the process of learning this beautiful language, at your own pace and in a personalized way.
A little bit about me: I like arts and cultures, I love traveling and I practice yoga and meditation.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
My favorite word in my language is "estrella", because I like the evolution of its etymology and how it's connected to other languages as Galician and Portuguese

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
My favorite dish from Colombia is Ajiaco. In Medellín, there is a restaurant called La Matriarca that serves a really delicious one.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I love languages! I've explored French, Japanese, Russian, Catalan, Galician, and I also studied Latin and Ancient Greek in the University

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I'm also a yoga teacher and a holistic therapist. I studied Chinese Medicine Massage and Reiki Healing. I also work as a doula, mostly during pregnancy and postpartum

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
My hometown is the Evergreen and Blooming city to me. Spring is in the air, meaning is very lively, colorful and always changing weather. I love it because people are charming and there is always something going on. The food is fresh and they have the best coffee of the world.
