Hola! My name is Natalia. Nice to meet you.

I am a native Spanish speaker from Uruguay, and I currently live in the Algarve, in the south of Portugal. Living in different countries and cultures has shaped the way I teach and communicate, and I love bringing culture, history, music, and real-life experiences into my Spanish lessons.

I have been teaching Spanish for more than 10 years to children, teenagers, and adults from all over the world. Throughout my teaching journey, I’ve worked with students of many ages, backgrounds, and learning styles, which has helped me develop a flexible, warm, and student-centered approach.

As someone who works closely with language learners every day, I know that learning a new language takes time, patience, and practice. That’s why I strongly believe in active learning. My classes focus on speaking, understanding, and using Spanish in a natural and practical way, always adapted to your goals—whether you want to improve conversation, build a strong grammar foundation, prepare for exams, or start from zero.

I create my own learning materials and personalize each lesson so that the learning process feels useful, enjoyable, and motivating. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, supported, and confident as you progress at your own pace.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?

“I like the word ‘GRACIAS ’ because it expresses gratitude and kindness.
What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?

My favorite traditional food from Uruguay is asado. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a social tradition where family and friends gather to enjoy grilled meat, good conversation, and time together.
Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?

I speak English and Portuguese.I´m learning German and French.
What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?

Outside of teaching at Strømmen, I enjoy traveling, learning about history, listening to music, and exploring different cultures. These interests often inspire my lessons and help me bring real-life context and cultural insights into my Spanish classes.
What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?

I consider Punta del Este my hometown. I love it because of its strong connection to the sea, its unique mix of nature and culture, and the relaxed yet vibrant lifestyle. Growing up there taught me to appreciate the ocean, open spaces, and a sense of balance, which are values I still carry with me today.
