Most of our French students learn online. Lessons are one on one over video, booked from your tutor's calendar around your week, so the hour goes to whatever you need most: speaking, listening, grammar or an exam.

Which French should I learn: France, Québec or somewhere else?
Most learners want the French of France, and Paris is the usual reference accent. If your family is in Montréal or your work is taking you to Brussels, learn the French spoken there, since accents and everyday words differ. Every tutor's profile says where they're from, and our Parisian, Belgian and Québécois pages narrow the list.
Is French hard for English speakers?
Less than its reputation. A large share of English vocabulary comes from French, so reading gets a head start. Pronunciation and listening take steady work, and that's what one-on-one lessons are good for.
How much do French lessons cost?
Each tutor sets their own rate, and the range on this page comes live from their listings. 10- and 20-hour packages lower the hourly rate, and every rate is on the tutor's profile before you book.
Can a tutor prepare me for the DELF or DALF?
Yes. Some of our French tutors coach for the DELF and DALF. Tell your tutor your level and exam date, and they'll plan the lessons back from it.
Do you offer in-person French lessons?
Yes, in Los Angeles: see our French tutors in LA, several of whom teach at your home, your office or a café. We also have a tutor in Paris who teaches in person. Everywhere else, lessons are online.
