  • What is your favorite word in your language and why?

    Saudade, because of its meaning (nostalgia of missing someone or something you love very much) and because it only exists in Portuguese.

  • What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?

    My favorite dish is churrasco, which is barbecue but Brazilian style. The best restaurants that serve churrasco are: President's Grill and Estrela do Sul.

  • Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?

    I speak and study Dutch twice a week.

  • What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?

    I love eating out, dancing, singing at karaokes, playing dominoes and solitaire, cooking, reading, writing and swimming.

  • What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?

    Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro. I love it because I was born and raised there and I have a great sense of belonging there, plus the best friends anyone could've ever asked for.
