Exam Rules Regole d'esame
This practice test follows the real exam's rules. Answer every question — on the real exam, a blank answer counts as an error.
- Answer all 30 questions. Each is a statement — decide if it's VERO (true) or FALSO (false). Unanswered questions count as errors on the real exam.
- You can miss 3. Score 27/30 or better (90%+) and you pass — promosso. A 4th error fails you, exactly like the real thing.
- Watch the trick wording. The exam is famous for trabocchetti — words like "always" and "only" that flip the answer. Read every statement twice.
- Read the Italian first. Each question is shown in authentic exam Italian — the exact language you'll face on the real thing — with an English translation underneath to check yourself against.
- Learn from your misses. After you submit, every question is shown with the correct answer and the rule explained. Each retake draws a fresh 30 questions from our 90-question bank — keep going until you pass consistently.

The Real Exam Is Only in Italian
Italy dropped the English version of the theory exam back in 2011. Today the quiz is offered in Italian (with German and French for the autonomous regions) — and the United States has no license-reciprocity agreement with Italy, so Americans who become residents can't convert their US license. After 12 months of residency, the only way to drive legally is to pass both exams like any Italian 18-year-old.
That's the reason this practice test exists: master the rules in English first, then move the vocabulary into Italian. Our native Italian tutors coach students through the patente every year — the road terms, the trick wording, and the conversational Italian you'll need at the Motorizzazione counter.
