Certified French teacher with more than 20 years of professional teaching experience, working with students of all ages, levels, and sociolinguistic backgrounds in a wide variety of learning environments. Throughout my career, I have taught in universities, colleges, high schools, language centres, Alliances Françaises, organizations, private tutoring settings, and online platforms. I have helped students and professionals achieve their goals in French for academic success, professional communication, exam preparation, travel, relocation, and everyday conversation.
I am a passionate, dynamic, and approachable educator who believes that language learning should be engaging, practical, and motivating. What is your favorite word in your language and why?
Bonjour. It is a simple but powerful word that helps people connect with one another in everyday life. It opens conversations warmly and respectfully in all kinds of situations.

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
My favorite dish is fresh fish served with rice and beans. I am currently away from my home country, so I truly miss this traditional meal because it is not easy to find where I live at the moment.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
Besides French, I also speak English and Kiswahili fluently. I also have basic knowledge of some neighboring regional languages such as Kinyarwanda and Kirundi.

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
Outside teaching, I enjoy research, consultancy work, reading, cultural exchange, and continuous learning. I also appreciate activities that allow me to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
Bukavu will always be my hometown. I love it for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and the warmth and resilience of its people. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
