Armenian interpreters in Los Angeles.
Eastern and Western Armenian interpreters for Los Angeles courts, depositions, medical exams, and community work. LA is home to the largest Armenian community outside Armenia, and the first thing we confirm is which Armenian your speaker uses.
About
Eastern or Western? We confirm before we staff
Los Angeles holds the largest Armenian community outside Armenia, with Glendale at its center. That community generates constant interpreting demand: LA Superior Court hears Armenian matters week in and week out, and the same need runs through depositions, medical exams, and family and probate work across the county.
Armenian is not a single standard. Eastern Armenian, spoken in Armenia and by more recent arrivals, and Western Armenian, the heritage language of much of the diaspora, are distinct enough that California's court interpreter program certifies them separately. So before we staff anything, we confirm which one your speaker uses. An Eastern Armenian interpreter in front of a Western Armenian witness is a mismatch the record will show, and it's entirely avoidable with one question up front.
For sworn settings, we send interpreters with the state court credential in the correct standard. See our court interpreting and deposition interpreting pages for how certification works in California. Honest note on supply: the certified Armenian pool is smaller than the demand the community generates, and the strongest interpreters book out. Give us lead time and we'll get you the right person; call the day before and the options narrow fast.
Beyond the courthouse, Armenian work in LA covers independent medical exams, business meetings, school conferences, and community events. The Eastern-or-Western question applies in every one of those rooms, not just in court. Strommen has been a founder-run Los Angeles language company since 2006, and Armenian is one of the languages this city simply requires us to do well.

Why Strommen
A vetted roster, not a marketplace.
Founder-vetted, every one
Strommen is not a marketplace. Garrett Strommen has run this roster personally since 2006. Every interpreter we send has been vetted by the founder, and most have worked with us for years.
Court-certified where it counts
For legal settings we staff California court-certified and registered interpreters: the credential LA Superior Court and federal courts actually require, not a self-declared specialty.
NDA-bound as standard
Two decades of film, TV, and legal work means confidentiality is the default. Our interpreters sign NDAs routinely and are used to pre-release material and sealed matters.
LA-anchored, worldwide
Based in Los Feliz, staffing Los Angeles daily, and on location nationwide or abroad when the job travels. Travel is billed transparently on the quote.

Book a Armenian interpreter.
Send the event date, location, language, and a quick description of the format. We quote per project and usually respond the same business day.
The certified Armenian pool is smaller than the demand Los Angeles generates, so Armenian carries a modest supply premium and rewards early booking. Confirm Eastern or Western when you book and we'll staff the right standard. Day rates cover up to 8 hours. No coordination fees, no deposits.
FAQ
Armenian interpreting questions.
What's the difference between Eastern and Western Armenian?
They are two distinct standards of the same language. Eastern Armenian is spoken in Armenia and by more recent arrivals; Western Armenian is the heritage standard of much of the diaspora. They differ enough in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary that California's court program certifies interpreters in each separately. We confirm which one your speaker uses before staffing.
Are your Armenian interpreters court-certified?
For legal work, yes, and in the correct standard. California certifies Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian separately, so a courtroom or deposition assignment gets an interpreter certified in the standard your speaker actually uses. For non-legal settings, we match by experience in that environment instead.
How much lead time do you need for an Armenian interpreter?
More than for Spanish, honestly. The certified Armenian pool in LA is smaller than the demand, and the strongest interpreters book out. A week or more of lead time gives us real options; same-week is often possible but not something to count on. Multi-day matters and trials should be booked as early as you can.
Why does Armenian cost more than some other languages?
Supply. Demand for Armenian interpreting in Los Angeles is constant, the certified pool is small, and qualified interpreters are scarcer than the caseload. That puts Armenian in a higher rate tier than deep-pool languages like Spanish. We quote per project in half-day and full-day blocks, with no coordination fees or deposits.
I don't know which Armenian my client speaks. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us where the speaker or their family is from and we can usually tell you which standard fits. A short phone call with the client settles it for certain. It takes five minutes and prevents a mismatch on the record, so we'd rather do that than guess.
I need an Armenian document translated, not a meeting interpreted. Same team?
Same company, different specialists. Interpreting is spoken, translation is written, and we staff them separately. If you know whether the document is Eastern or Western Armenian, tell us; if not, we'll identify it before quoting. For certificates, contracts, or court filings in Armenian, send the document over and our translation side will take it from there.
