Learn more about Francesca

  • What is your favorite word in your language and why?

My favorite word in my own language is "AMARCORD" which means in romagnolo dialect "I remember", but it's not simply a memory, it's the memories that make you smile and feel nostalgic at the same time. A word full of the sweetness of the past and the beauty of keeping those moments inside us.

  • What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?

My favorite hometown dish is Pane e Pomodoro with olive oil. Bread with fresh tomato, olive oil from my family house and little salt. Simple but exactly what I love!

  • Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?

I speak French, Spanish and bit of German and Chinese. I am currently studying Arabic and Hebrew basic language.

  • What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?

I am currently studying Anthropology at the University, (focusing in Zooanthropology field which is the study of animal and their behaviour to understand connection between human and animal world). I love travel to deserts at least once per year and stargazing. During my free time I like to read and also write stories. I believe that writing stories has the power of healing the soul as you step into different worlds. It' s magic! I practice martial arts (mma) with passion, training everyday with discipline to grow mentally and to challenge myself and overcome my limits and fears. I love having good and genuine time with people and pets I care of.

  • What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?

Hometown is any place I have travelled to and has welcomed me. It is about the connection I feel with the territory itself. If a place resonates with me and makes me feel like at home, I consider it part of my hometown.
