I’m an ESL educator and accent reduction coach with 15 years of experience teaching both at the university level and online, which means I’ve helped students succeed everywhere from classrooms to computer screens. My passion lies in helping motivated learners sound confident, natural, and powerful in English, including those with learning and communication disorders.
I work with professionals who want to sharpen their General English for career growth, master conversation and public speaking, and confidently prepare for the IELTS exam. I especially enjoy coaching intermediate to advanced learners as they refine their grammar, expand their vocabulary, and perfect their pronunciation.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian native speakers—so I understand exactly where challenges come from and how to turn them into strengths.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
I like the word "SUBLIMATE," meaning the process of transforming socially unacceptable impulses into socially acceptable actions or behaviors.

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
I enjoy a Mediterranean diet that is rich in dairy, olive oil, vegetables, fruit, and eggs. Making creative meals is a fun activity!

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I can speak German and some Russian. I maintain those languages and continue to build on my knowledge with Ukrainian, Italian, Korean, Arabic, and Neo-Sinarin (from LOTR).

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I enjoy watching hockey games, learning new languages, and playing video games.

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
Northwestern Wisconsin is my hometown region in a beautiful remote setting where all four seasons are enjoyed and the stars shine every night.
