I'm originally from Mexico and have spent many years living in Spain. With extensive experience as a language teacher, I've worked with students of all ages in schools, private tutoring, and online settings.
I tailor my classes to match each student's level and preferences, ensuring an engaging and personalized learning experience.
I have a master’s degree in Cognitive Science, specializing in Linguistics. Recently, I attended the Diverse Intelligence Summer Institute in Scotland as a storyteller. These experiences have equipped me with fascinating knowledge about cognition. We can have conversations around “minds” in humans, animals, and A.I.!
Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience as an actress and acting/dialect coach. We can incorporate some acting or play with accents in our classes.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
Amigo/ Amiga. I call my friends “amigo” or “Amiga” which literally means friend. It makes my heart happy to use that word when referring to them.

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
I love cooking! I like eating all different eat kinds of food: pasta, sushi, tacos, barbecue, noodles..

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I teach English as well. I speak Catalan fluently. I can have a basic conversation in Italians and know a little bit of French.

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I am interested in writing, I am currently working on a children’s book on animal cognition. I am interested in learning about the human mind and try to keep up with current research on different topics in cognitive science. I love painting, it’s my favorite hobby!

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
Barcelona is my the place I always go back to after I travel or live somewhere else. I have good old friends there and I love the city. It’s small and beautiful and cozy.
