Hi, I'm Emanuel. I was born in Saarbrücken, Germany, on the French
border. I grew up with German and French, and the the first time I was
exposed to English was during a visit to New York, when I was five. (I
got to see "Star Wars", but the only characters I could understand
where R2-D2 and Chewbacca!) At age twelve, we briefly relocated to
Houston, Texas, and from there to Frankfurt, Germany. After school, I
moved to LA. I currently work as a freelance journalist, translator
and language tutor. I've translated movie subtitles, as well as over
ten novels, and I've written hundreds of articles for German news
media. I'm going back to school for a double major in Linguistics and
Journalism. I firmly believe that German is as beautiful as it is
user-friendly. Pronunciation is extremely easy, and the rules are
common sense! Learning German will give you a better understanding of
other languages, it will enrich your life and it's fun!
