Buongiorno!
my name is Francesca, I am Italian, born and raise in Rome. Italian is my native language but I am also fluent in English and Spanish.
I have been living in US- California for 26 years. I am a passionate Italian language teacher and tutor. I have 22 years of experience dedicating myself to helping students learn Italian in a practical, engaging, and enjoyable way.
I have experience teaching learners of different ages and levels, I focus on building confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while making lessons interactive and personalized to each student’s goals.
You might be learning Italian for travel, work, exams, or personal interest, I create for you a supportive learning environment that helps you progress naturally and effectively.
My teaching style combines grammar, conversation practice, pronunciation, and cultural insights to make the language come alive.
My multidisciplinary education has given me a deep appreciation for languages, culture, communication, and critical thinking, which I bring into every lesson. I enjoy helping students not only learn Italian grammar and vocabulary, but also understand the richness of Italian culture, literature, and expression.
I believe that learning a language should be both educational and inspiring, and I enjoy helping students discover the beauty of the Italian language and culture. From beginners taking their first steps to advanced learners refining fluency, I am committed to making every lesson productive, motivating, and enjoyable.
Degrees and Certificates
- Degrees: I am a passionate Italian language teacher and tutor with a strong academic background that combines both science and humanities. Although I hold a degree in Biomedical Science, I also completed extensive humanities studies in Italy, where I studied Italian language and literature, as well as Latin and Ancient Greek language and literature.
- Certications: I am member of ATI ( American Association of Italian Teachers) and I partecipate to continuing education event and seminars.

What is your favorite word in your language and why?

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
Pizza bianca, I am from Rome and we can find it in small grocery stores, together with bread.

I speak English, Spanish, French and I am studying Japanese

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I enjoy nature, I like to go to beach, swim in the ocean, hiking.

I was born in Rome Italy, I live there until I was 33 years old. I spent many years in California
