Learn more about Giuseppe

  • What is your favorite word in your language and why?

If I had to choose one only word I'd probably pick 'meriggiare' because I really like Montale's poetry I also love the phrase 'dolce far niente' because it helps me to slow down and enjoy the moment

  • What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?

Definitely 'ciafarredda' (also known in Cilento as 'ciambotta'), what's better than eggplant, zucchini, bell peppers, potato, onion, tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil all together in one dish?

  • Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?

I speak English and a bit of French, I'm currently studying Spanish

  • What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?

Reading has always been my great passion, I also love being out in nature and watching movies; when I have some free time I try to write as much as possible (I'm currently working on a collection of short stories); traveling and discovering new places is another great interest of mine

  • What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?

Bellosguardo, a very small town in Cilento, is the place where I grew up and I love it because it's all surrounded by green hills; plus it's always nice to catch up with my childhood friends
