Hey, my name is Damon, I'm an English teacher with 8 years of experience, I teach groups and one-on-one classes that include all possible subjects starting with conversation and ending with writing. I always try to find individual approach for each student and create engaging and fun lessons.
I spent 10 years in China so I can speak Chinese, I also learned some Spanish and now studying German and Japanese .

What is your favorite word in your language and why?
"Chuvak" which means "dude" or "bro", it's a really nice slang word that was used a lot in the past. People would say it to a male friend who they love and feel close to.

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
Dumplings is my favorite dish everywhere I go, each country has its own way of making them and you can find it in many restaurants abroad.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I'm currently studying German and Japanese, mostly by myself but if I can find native speakers I try to practice with them anytime I get a chance.

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I do voice acting online, I have my own professional equipment that I use to record voices for different projects like commercials, e-learning, audiobooks and video games.

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
My hometown is in the north of Kazakstan and I feel so much nostalgia about that place that it's impossible not to love it.
