The Dari/Afghan Dialects

The primary dialect of Afghanistan, as determined by the numbers of speakers, is Dari, which is very closely rekated and functionally the same as Iranian Persian. This is also known as Farsi by the practitioners of Pashto, the second most popular language. Dari Farsi is the main inter-ethnic lingua franca of Afghanistan.
