What is your favorite word in your language and why?
Chuchichästli - the first word you have to learn when entering Switzerland. It's Swiss-German for cupboard. Nutella - Growing up in Italy, Nutella on a slice of bread is the best snack. While you think we all eat Pizza, it is Nutella that unites us as Italians ;) Fofinha - Cute or adorable in Brazilian Portuguese is my favorite word to call my dog when she is being cute and adorable. Putain - is my favorite French curse word, because it still sounds classy where nobody understands you. lol Arte Diem - means Daily Art in latin

What is your favorite dish from your hometown? If you no longer live there is there a good local restaurant that serves it?
I miss Piadina and Cassoni which unfortunately are hard to find in LA but there are a couple of places that serve them in NYC and if you happen to find yourself in Rimini Italy, you must go to Lella in Bellariva! If you want to try something typical of my region, you can also try "tortellini in brood" at Angelino's in North Hollywood. They are almost like my hometown's capeletti... never like Nonna's but close.

Besides the languages you teach, do you speak or study any other languages?
I am studying ASL, Mandarin and speak Spanish and a little Serbian/Croatian

What are your interests outside of teaching at Strommen?
I am also a sound engineer for film and music, a songwriter, a professional samba dancer and a physics student.

What do you consider your hometown? Why do you love it?
My hometown is Rimini, where I was born and I consider it, the best place on Earth. We could have cleaner water at the beach, but we have very healthy food, a beautiful historic city and the people are just warm at heart. My second hometown is Luzern, Switzerland, which I consider the most beautiful and international city in the German side of Switzerland. When you go to Switzerland, you have to try the breakfast. The best kept international secret is the different breads in a bakery. Swiss breakfast is the best.

★★★★★Used Yelp to find this place and within two days we got a French tutor. I called several places and this was the most responsive and fair priced. We've had two sessions with Vanessa and already seeing positive results. Most importantly, the tween approves and appreciates Vanessa's help with homework and preparing for tests.
